Play-based learning is an educational approach that involves using play as a primary tool for teaching and fostering a child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development by engaging them in various activities and games that are both fun and educational.
What are the characteristics of the Reggio Emilia approach?
The Reggio Emilia approach has seven main characteristics - Child-Centered Learning from the Environment, Documentation, Inquiry, Observation, Collaboration, and Community. The Reggio method is play-based, allowing children to use hands-on exploration to discover and explore their interests.
What does a Reggio Emilia classroom look like?
In a traditional Reggio classroom, you will find an atelier ( a creative expression area), loose parts, a sensory and imaginative play area, a building area, a writing center, and a meeting area.
Do you require a tour prior to applying?
Yes. We offer tours every Monday from 11:30-12 pm. You can schedule it HERE.
How many programs do you offer?
We have 3 programs available.
Parent & Me - This is a one day program in which the parent gets to stay
Bambini - A three day a week program held every T, W, and TH from 9 am - 1pm
Regazzi - A five day a week program held M-F from 9am - 1 pm.
Is La Famiglia a Non-Profit?
Yes, we are! As a nonprofit preschool, we put our primary focus on education and child development rather than generating profits. This commitment allows us to prioritize quality over financial gain, resulting in affordable, high-quality early childhood education accessible to a broader range of families.
